Miscellaneous

Other items of note

Special events and fundraising: The club runs a number of ‘Have a Go’ sessions during the year either on site at Appley or as part of a public event such as the Garlic Festival and Wolverton Garden Show. These sessions are important both in terms of fundraising for the club and to promote the sport of archery in the community.

Members are actively encouraged to offer their time in supporting these events. Don't worry if you have only been shooting for a short time, there are still a number of tasks you could do to help. When the event takes place at the Garlic Festival and Wolverton, the field at Appley will not be available for shooting over those weekends.

A range of events we undertake can be found on the left hand bar of our website and nearer the time details are both e-mailed out and advertised in the clubhouse.

Vectis Archery Tournament: Once a year in March the club organises this national archery tournament. Members have an opportunity to enter and we hope many of you will also be on hand to help. During this weekend the club field will be closed for shooting and the Sunday indoor target day is suspended.

All details appear on our club website.

Young Children: All babies/children under the age of 9 years must be accompanied by a non-shooting parent/guardian at all shooting venues for both club shoots and practice shoots. If shooting indoors young children can only attend the 1st session, please do not bring them to the second session or on any day when a Club Championship Competition is listed in the schedule.
