Handicaps

Handicaps

When a member shoots any full round, either at the club or in competition elsewhere, they should submit their score to the records officer who will then calculate, from the tables in their possession, the handicap value for that score and round. A handicap is finally given after three such scores have been submitted and an average of the three handicap values has been calculated.

This system has two main uses. First, handicaps can help you gauge your progress per season.  Second, they are also used to produce adjusted results in handicap tournaments.

Handicaps are also used to chart progress of an archer at the end of the indoor or outdoor shooting season and the member with the largest handicap gain will receive the Handicap Improvers Trophy.
